Our patient came to us with five dental implants already in place, but without any records or documentation about the type, brand, or placement details. Unfortunately, the dentist who originally placed the implants had passed away, and our patient had no way of finding out what system he had used.

This situation presented one of the most complex challenges a dental team can face. Without that information, it becomes extremely difficult to fit crowns or create restorations that attach properly. We couldn’t even identify which tools or parts would be compatible without first understanding the implant system.

Solving the Puzzle with Collaboration and Creativity

Instead of seeing a roadblock, we saw a puzzle to solve and got to work! We began by taking detailed X-rays and scans of the existing implants. We then sent these images to our trusted lab technician, who consulted with an experienced implant representative. Together, they worked diligently to identify the make and design of each implant.
